Kristin L. Moilanen, Ph.D.

Visiting Senior Research Specialist, University of Illinois at Chicago


Dr. Kristin L. Moilanen is a developmental psychologist.  Her research interests include adolescence and adulthood,  sexual risk-taking, self-regulation, and individual longitudinal change. 

In June 2022, Dr. Moilanen joined the Life Experiences and Well-Being in Adults Study as a Visiting Senior Research Specialist-Social Sciences within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Dr. Moilanen served as an Associate Editor (2017-2020) and as the Editor in Chief (2021-2023) of the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology

Previously, Dr. Moilanen was a postdoctoral fellow with the Pitt Mother and Child Project at the University of Pittsburgh from 2005-2008 and an associate professor in Child Development and Family Studies at West Virginia University from 2008-2022.
